Wedding belles

What a life-affirming, life-enhancing day. Made me realise I just have to bite the bullet and move forwards. Two beautiful, strong, confident women got hitched today & I was privileged to be there. Absent friends were as present as present ones, fathers, mostly. Larry playing 'Summertime' opened proceedings. Managed neither to cry inappropriately nor be asked any awkward questions ~ mirabile dictu.

Questionable start to the day - sleeping deeply for once, woke to let Majic the builder in at 8am, except he was in Ascot instead. Not phoning your client is a tradition in his trade. Saves on bills, I suppose. But, wide awake & twitching, poor S ended up listening to me go on, and on, before 9 in the morning while I painted my nails & crocheted & Tiger shredded her dressing gown.

Never been to a wedding in such comfortable footwear - thanks to LK Bennett, Heathrow [tax free and on sale, catch it while you can], for selling a me a perfect pair of elegant sandals, except one was a 37 & the other a 39. So they stayed home. The Happie dress feels just a touch Grayson Perry, but it cheers me.

Home to another avalanche of hospital letters & a not entirely balanced late tiffin of Green & Black's and an apple. I was so glad of my day away, chauffered across London's best, worst and plain quirky [what exactly is the Kirkaldy Testing Museum & why have I never heard of it before?].
