Well, I may have ordered a fine, new shed, and I'm sure I'll make it into another home from home (the old one did have curtains, framed pictures, a window box and a seat, after all). But, it will take a lot to beat this superlative example: Desolation Row, Colorado - rendered wholly from reclaimed materials by the only hat-making carpenter I will ever meet with a zither in his kitchen.

Couldn't sleep for hours last night. Grim fear of stitches leaking again. 35 years after the fact, I can still remember my father's stitches bursting one night. Wish we hadn't recorded over the audio tape he made in his final illness, I can still remember it, so we must have played it often before overwriting it with childhood sillinesses, "Greetings from the Hotel Shuna..."; but we were very young, and ignorant of so very much. Our mother was brave and wise enough not to berate us, but how must she only have felt... We were living in the present. And I daresay she soon learnt to do the same.
