Thank you, London Buses, for giving me the freedom to take my painkillers and still travel uphill through the mist, into glorious sunshine and surround myself in extraordinary handicrafts. Yup, Alexandra Palace again. Packed to the rafters. Every exhibition area in use.

How do they co-exist under one roof? The embroidery anarchist [couldn't resist his Banksy Balloon Girl] and the women still knitting toilet roll holders (yes, entire books of patterns, should you so wish). I felt sorry for stand C13: of all the weeks to promote Icelandic tourism...

Fabrics pre-printed with cut-out-and-sew patterns? They're back! Only this time, they've chosen such fresh designers: People will Always need Plates, and Rob Ryan.

No pictures today, eyeballs falling out. Sidebar links to Clothkits and Anarchist Embroidery.
