Curious, orange

Few things calm my twitches like writing lists; alphabeticising my world.  Lost myself in a sea of business cards this morning, now (wholly pointlessly) separated into restaurants and services, felt ruthless jettisoning the dead and barely remembered.

And the 'To do' lists which grow and grow and make me quite frantic have been (temporarily) mastered.  Divided into three sub-lists:

Essentials - 4 items, one being 'take rest';  

Possibilities (equipment in hand) - 44, of which only one being 'read any of the 40 books waiting patiently', does that make 83?;

Possibilities (need more £/energy than currently available) - 24, including return visits to the Periyar Dam, Colorado dunes and that department store for rabbis in New York.

Found it all so very soothing, that I proceeded to list the unread books, alphabeticised by author.  Briefly considered an additional column (Gathering Dust Since...).  Had to admit that I had no obvious use for it on completion.  But when did that ever stymie a good project.

Synagogue & Bengal Bertie's tonight with Rick.  Change is as good as a rest.  Regulars clearly fascinated to see a new face, "And where did you come from?", tempted to say "I fell from the sky", but resisted.  "And your husband?", "He's my cousin".  Much curiousity ensued.  Reckon they'd have me married off in a few months if I keep going.  Now why didn't I give that a shot twenty years ago?
