Just to let you know, that all went well at hospital today.  Both oncology and radiotherapy consultants were all commiserations re: my never healing wound, and both said I could leave my ovaries alone, and let them continue to wind down in their own good time.  Leaving them increases my risk factors, but so marginally as to not justify interfering.

Thanks to an integrated computer system, Dr S was also able to tell me the long-awaited results of my MRI scan - pancreatic divisium (I may not have the spelling entirely right and please don't ask me what it means, some minor quirk), explains the pain, but again, no action needed.  I have a check-up in March with the gastro-enterology people for more info on this.
