Polish polish

Ever tried asking for silver polish in a corner shop?  "No, not Polish as in plumber, polish as in.. oh, never mind".  Happily shining up Sam Segal's shop stock, ready for the high days and holy days.
.
Read somewhere:  wear your brightest clothes for Rosh Hashanah - it may be a Day of Judgement, but dress optimistically, certain in the knowledge that God will add your name to the Book of the Living for the coming year, not the other one.  Red coat it is, then.
.
Time to cook:  apple and honey cake, for a sweet year to come.  Visiting JG will sort the rest, I only have to point her in Sainsburger's direction.  Wonderful.  Spinach for a green year with plenty of produce, fish and rice for abundance, a round challah to celebrate a perfectly cyclical year ahead.
.
"This day is holy to God, your God;  do not mourn and do not weep... for the joy of God is your strength" (Nehemiah 8:9-10).
.
On that happy note, I will take my leave of you for a day or so, back Tuesday night or thereabouts.  Thank you all and always for checking up on me.
